What is Paint Correction?
Paint correction is about bringing life back into your car’s paint surface. It is also about reducing or removing marks in the top layer of paint to produce a more superior finish. This involves using a machine to apply high quality products to restore the affected area.
Here are some of the common problems that paint correction can fix:
- Swirl marks
- Entry/ door marks
- Minor scratches
- Off road trail marks
- Bird dropping (if caught in time)
- Water marks
- Chalky paint
- Dull paint
Paint correction involves a few steps to bring back that new car look.
- The vehicle is thoroughly washed
- Remove impurities from the surface
- Machine polish
- Apply a protective coating (See Paint Protection)
Paint correction is not for everyone as it depends upon the condition of the car’s paint surface.
This process may be needed before applying paint protection.
Maintaining your car paint surface
Regular washing of the car, approximately every two weeks will keep the shine on your car. It is important to use products designed for car cleaning. NOT dishwashing detergent, as this strips away any protection and dulls the paint surface.
When washing the car find a shady spot to prevent watermarks occurring and dry with a soft microfiber, chamois or towel.
